I enjoy working with adolescents, adults, couples and families. I use the evidence-based therapeutic approach that best meets your needs so you can begin to feel more peace in your life. Together, we can learn how to stop unwanted behavior/patterns, address thoughts or emotions that can be hard for you to cope with, communicate more successfully and set healthy boundaries. We can work to increase enjoyment in life and explore your goals and challenges. My focus is to make therapy a warm, personalized and safe place to explore and grow in a meaningful way.

I incorporate Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Transtheoretical Model of Behavior Change, Motivational Interviewing, Motivational Enhancement Therapy, Trauma-Informed Care, Trauma Recovery and Empowerment Model, Emotional Regulation Techniques, Mindfulness and Psychoeducation into my practice.

I have a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a Bachelor of Science in Art Education, both from Rhode Island College in Providence, RI.

I have been working in Behavioral Health for 20+ years and truly love what I get to do each day. I am a New Englander who has loved living in the Carolinas since 2017. I enjoy spending time with my loved ones, long road trips, the beach and spoiling my pets! I love making art and want to learn more about gardening.

Therapy Approaches

Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) is a form of psychotherapy in which the person being treated recalls distressing experiences whilst doing bilateral stimulation, such as side-to-side eye movement or tapping either side of the body.
Cognitive behavioral therapy is a psycho-social intervention that aims to reduce symptoms of various mental health conditions, primarily depression and anxiety disorders.
Acceptance and commitment therapy is a form of psychotherapy, as well as a branch of clinical behavior analysis. It is an empirically based psychological intervention that uses acceptance and mindfulness strategies along with commitment and behavior-change strategies to increase psychological flexibility.
Motivational interviewing (MI) is a counseling approach developed in part by clinical psychologists William R. Miller and Stephen Rollnick. It is a directive, client-centered counseling style for eliciting behavior change by helping clients to explore and resolve ambivalence.
Motivational enhancement therapy is a strategy of therapy that involves a variation of motivational interviewing to analyze feedback gained from client sessions.
