About Yalonda Haywood

Yalonda’s approach to therapy is grounded, practical, and deeply attuned to the realities her clients are navigating. She works alongside her clients as both a supportive presence and a thoughtful guide—helping them slow down, gain clarity, and move forward with intention.

Much of her work centers around individuals who appear “high-functioning” on the outside, but internally feel overwhelmed, stuck, or emotionally exhausted. She understands the pressure of holding it all together while quietly struggling beneath the surface, and she creates a space where clients can finally exhale, be honest, and begin to shift out of survival mode.

Yalonda works with adolescents, adults, and couples who are navigating life transitions, relational challenges, and the impact of stress or past experiences on their present lives. Her work focuses on helping clients build emotional awareness, strengthen coping skills, and develop healthier, more connected ways of relating—to themselves and to others.

Clients often describe Yalonda as both grounding and direct—someone who provides a safe, supportive environment while also gently challenging them to grow. Her goal is not just insight, but real, lasting change—helping clients move toward clarity, emotional regulation, and a deeper sense of alignment in their lives.

Cognitive behavioral therapy is a psycho-social intervention that aims to reduce symptoms of various mental health conditions, primarily depression and anxiety disorders.

Trauma focused cognitive behavioral therapy is an evidence-based psychotherapy that helps individuals after a traumatic event.

EFT approaches are based on the premise that human emotions are connected to human needs, and therefore emotions have an innately adaptive potential that, if activated and worked through, can help people change problematic emotional states and interpersonal relationships.

Somatic-based approaches focus on the connection between the mind and body, helping individuals recognize and release stress, trauma, and emotional experiences that may be stored physically. These approaches use body awareness, nervous system regulation, movement, breathing, and grounding techniques to support healing, emotional balance, and a greater sense of safety and connection within oneself.

EMDR is an evidence based therapy that helps people heal from distressing life experiences, emotions, and trauma. Through eye movements or tapping the brain is able to heal from past pain. Most clients report a noticeable change in as little as 1-3 sessions.
